Where to Buy Montessori Friendly Materials and Open-Ended Toys for Babies

From left to right: IKEA Nesting Basket & Dollar Store Ribbons; Wooden Tray and Bangles from Lazada with IKEA MULA Stacker; Dollar Store Balls and Home decorations; Dollar Store Silk Scarves; Dollar Store Soft Balls; The Manhatten Toy Company SKWISH Rattle and Teether; Dollar store wooden ball, plant basket and wooden box; Wooden car from the Tokyo Toy Museum Shop; Xylophone from Lazada

A lovely reader asked if I could share where I find our Montessori Friendly Materials, so I have put together a simple list of recommended places. Most of our Montessori friendly pieces are from IKEA. It is a great place for sourcing child-sized furniture, storage, rugs and mats, practical life materials and wooden toys. I find a lot of pieces for DIY Montessori Materials at Daiso (a Japanese two dollar store) and our Traditional Montessori Materials come via Lazada (Asia’s answer to Amazon). We have a number of non-toxic, eco-friendly wooden toys from Plan Toys and The Manhatten Toy Company and I would love to add some Grimm’s to her collection, along with some beautiful handmade pieces from Independent Etsy Stores.
